Signature treatment
Warm oil, long continuous strokes and a slow, steady rhythm that moves from your feet to your scalp. Our most-loved massage — and the one we built MassagPulse around.
“The aim isn’t to fix you in an hour. It’s to remind your body what relaxed feels like — so it remembers on the way home.”
What makes it Italian
Italian body massage borrows from the classic European tradition of Swedish-style bodywork, but slows it down and joins it up. Instead of treating the back, legs and arms as separate zones, your therapist links them with long, sweeping strokes, so the massage feels like one continuous movement rather than a series of tasks.
Warm oil is used generously to let the hands glide without dragging the skin. Pressure builds gradually, never suddenly. Kneading (petrissage), gentle compression, light rocking and slow circular friction are woven into the flow, with extra time spent wherever you hold tension — usually the shoulders, the lower back and the calves.
The pace is deliberate. Most people notice their breathing slow within the first ten minutes, and many drift into a light doze by the end. That isn’t a side effect — it is the point. When the nervous system shifts out of its alert, busy state, muscles release far more easily than when they are pushed.
The result is a massage that feels luxurious yet does real work: lighter shoulders, looser hips, warmer hands and feet, and a quieter mind that tends to last well into the evening.
The sequence
Minutes 0–5
A short chat about pressure, problem areas and anything to avoid. You undress in private and settle face-down under warm linen.
Minutes 5–30
Warm oil is spread in long strokes from the lower back to the shoulders. Pressure builds slowly as your therapist works through the muscles either side of the spine and across the shoulder blades.
Minutes 30–50
Long draining strokes up the backs of the legs, careful work on the calves and hamstrings, then a thorough foot massage before you turn over.
Minutes 50–75
Gentle work on the front of the legs, shins and feet, followed by the arms and hands — often where people discover tension they didn’t know they had.
Minutes 75–90
Slow neck release, scalp massage and gentle pressure around the temples. A few quiet minutes to rest before you get up.
Benefits
i.
The slow rhythm helps shift the body out of “fight or flight”, which is why so many guests fall asleep on the table.
ii.
Long strokes and kneading ease everyday tightness in the back, shoulders and legs without the soreness of very firm work.
iii.
Warmth and rhythmic movement encourage blood flow, leaving hands and feet warmer and the skin soft from the oil.
iv.
Many guests tell us they sleep more deeply the night after an Italian massage — the calm tends to linger.
v.
An hour without screens, decisions or conversation gives the mind real rest, not just the body.
vi.
Generous, unhurried attention is good for you in ways that are hard to measure but easy to feel.
Massage is a wellbeing service and not a medical treatment. Results vary from person to person.
The oil
We use a light carrier oil that glides easily without feeling greasy, warmed before it touches your skin. You can choose unscented, or add a few drops of lavender, sweet orange or eucalyptus essential oil.
If you have sensitive skin, nut allergies or simply prefer a product-free finish, let us know when booking. A warm towel is offered at the end to remove excess oil before you dress.

Italian massage FAQ
The basic strokes are similar, but Italian massage is slower, more continuous and more oil-rich. The emphasis is on linking the whole body in a single flowing rhythm rather than working zone by zone.
No. Pressure builds gradually and stays within your comfort. If you would like firmer work on particular areas, your therapist can add it without changing the overall calm pace.
Absolutely. Many of our male guests choose Italian massage for stress and sleep, often with firmer pressure on the back and legs. You can also choose a male or female therapist.
You undress to your comfort level in private and are covered with linen throughout. Only the area being massaged is uncovered at any time.
Once a month works well for general wellbeing. During stressful periods or heavy training, every two to three weeks can help you stay on top of tension.
